Woodturning and the creation of Wood Art is my work and I love it! I love to create beautiful things that people can use. I love to create beautiful things for people look at, hold and question.

For me, interpretation of art can be very simple. When I see an object that captures my attention, I immediately feel a very basic emotion. When I look at a medium I don't relate to, I struggle to explore the piece beyond that initial "feeling". Wood is different! I am drawn to study the form, line, texture, colors, completeness, technique, use of the woods' qualities and so on. Wood art is a complete sensory experience for me and that's likely why I enjoy it so much. I put a lot of myself into my work, which makes it very hard to be objective in assessing the artistic merits of a piece. I like to live with a piece for a while before I decide if it's finished.

I hope you enjoy the work you see here as much as I've enjoyed making it.
